Central City News: Making quite a splash.


BROAD Street's Canal Boat Light Parade was a buoyant success this year, despite the filthy weather which didn't dampen the spirit of the thousands who turned out to watch the colourful parade of narrow boats in their full Christmas illuminated glory.

The best narrow boat award went to the Anglo Welsh vessel, nothing of course to do with "Boyo Boyo can mean:
  • a Welsh and Irish variation on the word Boy
  • a Division of Cameroon
  • various personal names
" Bill Bohanna, the Broad Street TV executive who entry also won a prize - was judging the event.
