Central City News: Digby could clash with Gordon.

SALVATION for the nation at last in the guise of favoured son of Broad Street Sir Digby Marritt Jones. The former CBI boss was recently appointed as the Government's Skills Envoy as part of a drive to tackle the UK's skills crisis and boost training for workers.

In his modest manner Sir Digby commented: "I look forward to helping equip Britain to compete in the 21st century."

His new boss of course will be the next Prime Minister, Gordon Brown. Couple this with Sir Digby's latest revelation that he may well be standing as an independent elected mayor, should someone do all the spade work first for him?

Now should that be the case, how well will this move go, assuming he knocks the very loyal Labourite Sir Albert Bore for six, which looks likely.
