Central Asia Announces Additional Results from the Southern Ashiktas Deposit, Kazakstan.TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 24, 1996--CENTRAL ASIA Asia (ā`zhə), the world's largest continent, 17,139,000 sq mi (44,390,000 sq km), with about 3.3 billion people, nearly three fifths of the world's total population. (ME: CGZ CGZ.PR.A) Central Asia Goldfields n. 1. A small slender woolly annual (Lasthenia chrysostoma) with very narrow opposite leaves and branches bearing solitary golden-yellow flower heads; it grows from Southwestern Oregon to Baja California and Arizona; - it is often cultivated. Corporation is pleased to announce additional encouraging results from the on-going drilling program on its 70 percent owned Ashiktas gold prospect located in central Kazakstan. Assay data received from the latest two holes, CA96-8 and CA96-9, located at the Southern Ashiktas prospect are listed below. The holes were completed to the east and west of a fence of 4 holes from the Soviet era (map available). These results, together with those released previously, confirm the strike and depth continuity of the zone. -0-

C423 yielded 3.9 g Au/T over a core length of 14.2 metres (including 8 g Au/T over 5.2 metres). However, two additional zones of mineralization were intersected higher up in the hole. The first interval averaged 2.2 Au/T over 21 metres and appears to reflect the depth continuation of a separate mineralized interval previously located in a trench trench: see ocean. . The second interval averaged 6.5 g Au/T over 13 metres and could be a separate zone. Hole CA96-9 is located 40 metres the west of the 4-hole fence and undercut a zone of weak mineralization exposed in a trench.
