Centraal Corporation, creators of the RealNames Web addressing and navigation service, today announced the appointment of Susan Rotella as senior vice president, customer operations. Rotella, previously Centraal's vice president for subscription sales and marketing, is now charged with ensuring a high-quality end-user Web experience and will oversee the company's namespace policy development and namespace operations functions; domestic and international customer service and support; and namespace database development and management. She will report to Keith Teare, president and chief executive officer.

Rotella brings more than 15 years of operations and marketing experience to her new position, having worked with service-focused organizations such as AirTouch, Pacific Bell Directory and Sprint Communications.

Before joining Centraal, Rotella was director of product management for SBC Directory Operations in San Francisco. She also held a variety of positions with AirTouch Communications, including director of investor relations, director of marketing for PrimeCo Personal Communications and director of marketing, wireless data division. Prior to AirTouch, Rotella served as general manager/director of Pacific Bell Directory's SMART Resource Center. In her role as customer operations manager at Sprint, she built and managed a large call center servicing business and residential long distance customers. Susan started her career as a certified public accountant with Arthur Andersen.

Rotella received an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan, and holds B.B.A. from the Hofstra University School of Business.
