Centra Health Selects Mirapoint For Message Network Security; Mirapoint's Message Director Helps Centra Health Guard Against Spam & Virus Threats.

Mirapoint, a leader in solutions for message networks, today announced that Centra Health, a regional non-profit health care system in Central Virginia, has chosen Mirapoint's Message Director to secure and protect its existing IBM Lotus Notes email server. Centra Health completed the deployment of Mirapoint's messaging solution for its 3,000 employees in the first quarter of this year. Centra Health is using the Mirapoint Message Director for email routing, anti-virus and anti-spam protection.

Prior to standardizing on Mirapoint, Centra Health used two separate servers to manage its messaging traffic. One UNIX server was used for message routing, while a separate server ran virus-scanning software from Symantec. This patchwork solution quickly became unreliable and time-consuming for Centra Health to manage. In addition, the company's employees were still exposed to unwanted spam.

Today, Centra Health is employing one Mirapoint Message Director to improve the security, reliability and manageability of its message network. Deployed to front-end Centra Health's existing Notes server, the Mirapoint solution provides a comprehensive security solution for Centra Health's users. Through the Mirapoint deployment, Centra Health was able to consolidate two separate servers into a single, more manageable solution, while simultaneously adding new security features and increasing overall message network reliability.

These measures have captured and blocked almost 6,000 spam messages a day, helping boost employee productivity, as well as allowing Centra Health to better utilize its IT and network resources.
