Centinela Hospital sings the blues ... Dodger Blue, that is.

INGLEWOOD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 23, 1996--Visitors, patients and staff alike are being treated to Christmas Los Angeles Dodgers' style compliments of famed team announcer Vin Scully.

Scully purchased the approximately 10-foot tree at a silent auction late last week and donated it to the hospital for patients, visitors and staff. The tree, exhibited in the hospital lobby, hosts an array of Dodgers paraphernalia on its branches including bats, balls and blue plastic caps. Scully even signed a team picture with a special holiday greeting for patients.

Centinela Hospital has a long and committed relationship with the Los Angeles Dodgers, serving as the teams' official hospital. Last June, former Dodger manager Tommy Lasorda received angioplasty treatment at Centinela to open a narrowed artery after suffering a mild heart attack.

In addition to the Dodgers, Centinela Hospital Medical Center is the official hospital for the Los Angeles Lakers, Kings, PGA Tour and Senior PGA Tour. The 403-bed medical facility is rated among the top 5 percent of United States hospitals with an Accreditation With Commendation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations.
