ReadyTalk is a full-featured voice mail system with a wireless receiver. It allows users to receive, store and reply to voice messages from a wireless handset the size of a small cellular phone. Users also have instant, live access to 911 emergency services emergency services Emergency care '…services …necessary to prevent death or serious impairment of health and, because of the danger to life or health, require the use of the most accessible hospital available and equipped to furnish those services'  with the touch of a button. ReadyTalk customers can send messages from their handset to other ReadyTalk customers, and can send messages to groups of ReadyTalk users from the handset. Callers to ReadyTalk can retrieve an automatic acknowledgment that their message has been received, and can retrieve a reply through a telephone.

ReadyTalk leverages existing cellular networks so cellular operators can offer the service with no additional infrastructure investment. ReadyTalk's near-real time service provides enhanced system efficiencies for the carrier. The service supports roaming throughout the U.S. cellular network.
