Centigram Provides Groundbreaking Specialized Programs to Service Provider Customers; Partnership Services Help Customers Develop and Implement Unique Revenue Generating Applications.SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 17, 1996--Centigram cen·ti·gram (s n t -gr m Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:CGRM), a leading global provider of communications solutions, is offering Partnership Services, a comprehensive set of programs which extends Centigram's industry knowledge and expertise to its current and future network of worldwide service provider customers. These programs help customers enter and excel in emerging revenue-generating markets and implement new features to their existing and future customer base. With Centigram's assistance, service providers can now offer end users improved operations and enhanced applications designed to meet customers' diverse communications needs. The Partnership Services programs include the Market Leadership, Custom Development, Revenue Sharing and Customer Care programs. Centigram has been offering providers components of these programs, and now the programs are formalized to deliver a comprehensive set of services to customers. "The scope and breadth of our Partnership Service program is unique in the industry and is a vital component to being an industry leading full-service company," said George Sollman, Centigram president and CEO. "Our partnership services are base offerings customized to provide sales and service applications which deliver better, more robust services to end users." THE MARKET LEADERSHIP PROGRAM Centigram's Market Leadership Program is the first in the industry to deliver a comprehensive, fully integrated program designed to increase and expand providers' revenue streams, maximize resources to reduce costs, and create market leadership. It focuses on key areas of a service launch, including operations, market research, promotions, media relations, product packaging and pricing, sales planning and tracking, customer support and billing requirements. The program also offers consultancy services to help providers create an enhanced services deployment plan customized to their market requirements. "Centigram is dedicated to the long-term success of our service provider customers worldwide," said Dana Hooper, Centigram vice president of Marketing and business development. "The Market Leadership Program focuses on all areas of an entire company involved in a launch and not just the marketing organization, which is a key differentiator from what other companies offer." THE CUSTOM DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM Custom Development provides customized applications allowing service providers to offer new differentiated products to their customers. This service creation on Centigram's Series 6 communications server includes, for example, short messaging service enhancements, call back and return call services, and text messaging services. "The Series 6 flexibility and openness of its software architecture put us in the unique position to offer these differentiating services," said Dave Brahm, Centigram vice president of Engineering. "This is another way Centigram helps its customers enter new markets quickly and profitably." THE REVENUE SHARING PROGRAM Centigram also offers revenue sharing to allow service providers the opportunity to finance the Series 6 through revenues generated from mailbox rentals. This removes the financial burden of introducing enhanced services into new markets, and allows ease of entry into these markets, quick introduction of leading-edge technologies, and long-term support for customer growth. THE CUSTOMER CARE PROGRAM Customer Care is made up of four sets of services to provide consistent support to providers' equipment. These can be varied to meet each customer's needs to maximize system performance. The Technical Specialist Program, another program which is a first in the industry, provides "specialist" certification to top operations personnel. After qualifying, specialists receive support from a dedicated group at Centigram's Technical Assistance Center (TAC), ongoing training opportunities, and special technical bulletins through a dedicated voice mailbox. As a result, specialists are better able to maximize system performance, ensuring profitable revenue generation. Contractual Services make it easy to budget for ongoing support. Highlights include remote support around the clock through the TAC, free software updates, a support database accessible via Centigram's World Wide Web site at www.centigram.com, shipment of replacement parts -- usually by next-day delivery, and on-site response as needed. Professional Services provide educational programs to transfer knowledge efficiently. Multimedia class formats are used, including computer-based training to maximize learning while minimizing time away from the job. It also offers customized project services to supplement internal resources, including hardware and software installation, application design, network installation and configuration, system upgrades and expansions, system relocation, and project management. Finally, On-Demand Services deliver support on a time and materials basis. "We know that uninterrupted operation is absolutely critical for service providers, which is why Customer Care offers flexible, tailored services that complement our customers' internal resources to increase system up-time, improve operations, and enhance productivity to provide better support to all customers," said Michael Wagner, Centigram vice president of Customer Services.
