Centigram Announces Widespread Availability of Custom Development Program for Service Providers; Service Providers Can Profit From Customized Services, Unique to the Industry.

NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 1997--Centigram Communication Corporation (NASDAQ:CGRM), a leading global provider of wireless and wireline messaging and communications solutions, today announced the widespread availability of its Custom Development Program. Initially available for select Service Provider customers, Centigram is now globally expanding this program to all wireless and wireline customers.

Centigram's Custom Development Program is designed to provide unique applications to customers outside the typical development schedule. Custom applications can be purchased as optional features on the current software release to meet a unique market need or if the application is seen as a needed solution in the marketplace, it is targeted for baselining as part of a complete Centigram messaging solution.

These applications are developed based on a global Service Provider customer's unique market needs which help them differentiate their services to the end user. For example, Centigram designed a customized Rapid Dial application for a nationwide service provider needing an abbreviated dialing capability for internal groups.

Among the recent applications created by Centigram's Custom Development Program is integration to Short Message Service Centers (SMSC). This function sends message notification to end users. Another application, Calling Line Identification (CLI), sends background information on the calling party to paging and cellular systems for use in a variety of applications. Other solutions, among them ease of calling, are currently under development.
