Centex Rooney Provides ``Incentive to Learn'' to Local Elementary Students.

Centex Rooney Construction Company is providing the elementary students at Croissant Park Elementary School an incentive to learn.

In preparation for the FCAT testing that took place statewide last week, the administration and faculty of Croissant Park Elementary School determined that mathematics was a primary area that their students needed the most improvement. Centex Rooney teamed up with the school's administrative staff and faculty to encourage students to focus their efforts on improving their math skills.

On March 26th, Centex Rooney will host a "Math Challenge Barbeque" as a reward for the students striving to receive a 75% or higher on a teacher-made test given in preparation for the FCAT. The barbeque will be held on property during school lunch hours.

Centex Rooney has a tradition of partnering with Croissant Park Elementary as part of the Partnership to Advance School Success (PASS program) and the South Florida Annenberg Challenge (SFAC) which is supporting the program and Broward County Public School system. The program is a three-year commitment to bring effective business management practices to school improvement operations. The contributions of Centex Rooney to the school include tutoring, computers, technology support, a clothing drive, staff workshops, voluntary reading program, and attendance incentives.
