Centex Rooney Construction Company Tops out Marion County's West Port Schools.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 1, 2000

Ray Southern, Chief Executive Officer of Centex Rooney Construction Company, Inc., is pleased to announce that Centex Rooney has reached a project milestone on the West Port Schools project in Ocala, FL. A "Topping Out Ceremony" will be held on November 3rd. The project is located at 3733 Southwest 80th Avenue in Ocala, Florida.

The $48.5 million West Port Schools project is the first project to be constructed by Centex Rooney for Marion County Schools. The 400,000 SF school is a joint use facility combining both middle and high school facilities. Academic facilities will be arranged on opposite sides of a central core of buildings that will house common facilities for use by both schools. This central area will include administration, gymnasiums, locker rooms, media center, music, guidance areas, dining rooms and kitchens and a central mechanical plant.

The middle school portion of the school was turned over to Marion County in August, one month ahead of schedule. The high school will be completed in April 2001, approximately three months ahead of schedule.
