Centex Construction Company Completes Reston Overlook Office Buildings.

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 1999--Centex Construction Company recently completed Reston Overlook, a two-building office complex in Reston.

Owned and developed by Boston Properties of Washington, D.C. (NYSE:BXP), and Terrabrook of Reston, the two-building complex with a parking garage totals over 788,000 square feet.

Construction of Reston Overlook, which is located on a 15-acre site at the corner of Reston Parkway and Sunset Hills Road, began in August 1997. Building I of the multi-phased project was built-to-suit for TRW, a multinational information technology company. It consists of 12 stories and over 323,000 square feet. Centex also completed an $8.5 million tenant package for all 12 stories of Building I.

Building II consists of over 133,000 square feet in six stories. In addition, Centex's contract included a four-level parking garage to accommodate 1,048 vehicles. Centex completed the project with no lost-time accidents and a construction value over $33.5 million.

"Because of the outstanding effort by Centex on our Reston Overlook project," says Senior Vice President of Boston Properties Jonathan Kurtis, "Boston Properties has awarded Centex two more projects totaling over $55 million. In addition, Boston Properties is negotiating with Centex for construction services on a new $20 million project in Loudoun County. The entire project team is especially proud of Reston Overlook because of its on-time delivery, despite building during the wettest winter in many years, explains Centex project executive David Salzer.

"Everyone from the trades to the owner and Fairfax County Inspection Authority worked extensive hours through the holidays to accomplish the common goal of timely completion."

Reston Overlook was designed by Davis Carter Scott of McLean, Va., as the Architect of Record, and Evans Heintges Architects of New York City was the design consultant.
