Centerbank introduces home banking.

WATERBURY, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 1996--Centerbank customers can now do their banking and manage their money with only a PC and a modem -- whether they're at home, in the office, or using a laptop from a remote location.

Centerbank has signed an agreement to offer PC banking to the bank's customers through Intuit's Quicken(R) and Microsoft(R) Money, announced Maureen A. Frank, executive vice president at Centerbank. These services will be offered through Intuit Services Corp. at Mountain View, Calif.

"Banking in the '90s is all about convenience. Consumers want to bank where and when it's right for them. With money management software provided by Intuit and Microsoft, consumers can access their Centerbank checking and savings accounts, transfer funds, reconcile statements and schedule bill payments - around the clock - from anywhere, with only a PC and modem," commented Frank. "At Centerbank, we respect our customers' most valuable commodity - time. Centerbank's PC banking service will eliminate special trips, traffic jams and waiting in line." The bank will go "on-line" in August.

Centerbank's PC banking service will be accessed using Quicken(R) 5 for Windows, Money for Windows(R) 95 or Version 3.0 for Windows(R), the leading personal financial management software packages. These packages not only allow users to monitor their banking transactions, but also include the ability to track other accounts, investments and loans; plan taxes; create a budget; and prepare reports and graphs. The software can even be tailored for managing home finances or those of a small business.
