Business Editors

BOULDER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 2, 2001

CenterFrame, developer of leading-edge event imaging technologies, announced today that it has filed for world-wide patent protection on extensions to its existing core technology patent applications.

CenterFrame's technology identifies people in pictures, allowing event imaging operators to provide automatic distribution of personalized photographs on cruise ships This is a list of cruise ships, both those in service and those that have since ceased to operate. Both cruise ships and cruiseferries are included in this list. (Ocean liners are not included on this list, see List of ocean liners. , in theme and amusement parks This page contains a list of amusement parks by

  • links to amusement parks listed alphabetically, beginning with the name of the park. The size of the list has required it to be broken into separate pages:
, at conventions and resorts, at citizen races and similar participation sporting events, weddings and other family events, and at a wide variety of other venues. The technology incorporates colored tags worn by the participants, which are identified from pictures by sophisticated image analysis software. The newly filed patent application covers a range of technologies, including:

allow a larger number of tag identifiers to be used.

-- Tag shapes and configurations that can be non-geometrical, and

which can meld non-obtrusively with event themes.

-- Tags incorporating reflective inks, in which the encoding can

be made "invisible" to the event participants, who will see

only a conventional nametag name·tag

-- The incorporation of special codes into the color schemes, so

that the identifiers of partially obscured tags can be

accurately decoded.

-- Color matching algorithms that can be used to generate tags on

a variety of printing systems, correcting for color variations

produced by different means of printing tags.
