, Calif. -- The Center for the Future of Teaching and Learning will release its annual report, California's Teaching Force 2006: Key Issues and Trends, for publication and broadcast on Wednesday, December 6, 2006.

California's Teaching Force 2006: Key Issues and Trends provides the latest available data and analysis of California's teaching workforce and the challenges confronting the state's educators and policymakers. While the report finds progress toward reducing the shortage of teachers, it raises concerns about low student achievement and the implications for the state's ability to meet the proficiency pro·fi·cien·cy

All materials will be posted to the Center's website at www.cftl.org at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2006.
