Center for Economic Growth's O'Connor Elected to Albany Molecular Research, Inc. Board of Directors.

ALBANY, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 15, 2000

Albany Molecular Research, Inc. announced today that Kevin O'Connor, president of Albany's Center for Economic Growth, has been elected to serve on the Company's Board of Directors as a Class II Director effective March 6, 2000.

Albany Molecular Research, Inc.'s Chairman and CEO Thomas E. D'Ambra, Ph.D. commented, "I am pleased to welcome Kevin O'Connor to the Board of Directors. The Center for Economic Growth is a business-sponsored economic development organization that provides management and technical assistance to manufacturing and technology firms in the Albany area. Mr. O'Connor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Center and for its activities to create, retain, and attract businesses and new jobs to the Capital Region. Prior to joining the Center, Mr. O'Connor worked in the Economic development field for 15 years. He most recently served as a Deputy Commissioner for the New York State Department of Economic Development, where he was assigned to the Governor's Office to oversee the programs and policies of the State's economic development agencies and public authorities. He also previously held positions in the New York State Division of the Budget and the New York State Department of Health. Mr. O'Connor is a graduate of the State University of New York College at Brockport where he earned his Bachelors degree in History and a Masters degree in Public Administration.

Kevin O'Connor also serves on the Boards of Directors of the Albany Institute of History and Art, the University at Albany Foundation, the University at Albany's Center for Thin Film Technology, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Center for Advanced Technology, the Key Bank District Advisory Board, Tech Valley Communications, Capitalize Albany, Albany Local Development Corporation, and the Albany Parking Authority.
