SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 20, 2003

) today announced they are hosting "Freedom in My Soul," a gospel music concert, featuring two award winning, Bay area musicians, Michelle Jordan and Jackie Hairston, in collaboration with CSL's own 75-voice Choir of Light, and a small ensemble The Power and Light Company on Saturday, February 22, at Center for Spiritual Living -- 5801 Sand Point Way NE in Seattle.

It is open to the public and runs from 7:30 p.m. until 9:45 p.m.

About the Performers

Guest pianist, arranger and conductor Jacqueline Hairston is a graduate of Juilliard School Juilliard School

Parkening was born in Los Angeles, California, and pursued music in part because of his cousin Jack Marshall, a studio musician in the 1960s.

She is a mezzo soprano and began vocal training at the Duke Ellington School of Arts in Washington in the late 1980s.
, and the Oakland East Bay Symphony. She has won numerous awards for her work as a music educator, and is a nationally known leader of workshops for choirs and choral organizations. Her vocal proteges include members of the pop groups En Vogue and Tony, Tone, Tone.

The 75-voice Choir of Light was featured at Seattle Center's Juneteenth Celebration, the First Annual Seattle Sacred Music Festival, and was a guest choir at this year's production of "Black Nativity" at Intiman Theater. The Power and Light Company is a seven-voice ensemble that regularly performs at Center for Spiritual Living and other local churches.

Ticket Information

Tickets for this public event are on sale now online at www.spiritualliving.org/events.htm or at the Registration desk in the Fellowship Hall at Center for Spiritual Living. Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 day of show, for all ages. Childcare for children ages 4 and under is available at no additional charge.
