Centennial Technologies, Inc. announces the appointment of John J. Shields to its board of directors.

BILLERICA, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 1996--CENTENNIAL TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (AMEX: CTN) announced today that John J. Shields has been appointed to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Shields is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Kings Point Holdings Inc., a privately held corporation comprised of several companies engaged in information and instrumentation technologies. Mr. Shields is also a Director of Ionics, Incorporated (NYSE: ION) and EXA Corporation. Mr. Shields served as the Chief Executive Officer of Computervision Corporation (NYSE: CVN) from January 1991 to April 1993. Mr. Shields was formerly employed by Digital Equipment Corporation (NYSE: DEC) for 28 years during which he held various management positions including Senior Vice President, and served as a member of Digital's Executive Committee.
