The company reported net income for the fourth quarter ending Dec. 31, 2002 of $495,000 up 35 percent from $365,000 earned in the fourth quarter of 2001. Basic earnings per share were $0.39 for the fourth quarter of 2002, compared with $0.35 for the same quarter of 2001. For the 12 months ended Dec. 31, 2002, net income was $1,706,000, up 63 percent from $1,047,000 in 2001. Basic earnings per share for the year ended Dec. 31, 2002 were $1.42, compared with $1.19 for the year ended Dec. 31, 2001. Return on average assets and return on average equity for 2002 were 0.83% and 10.47%, respectively, compared with 0.77% and 10.20% for 2001, respectively. Total net loans increased $15 million, or 12% to $141 million at year-end 2002, compared with $126 million at year-end 2001. Deposits increased $9 million, or 5% to $183 million from $174 million for the same period.
