: CYCL) today announced that it has brought high-tech mobile communications to Jamaica with the launch of its digital wireless service on November 29th.

The wireless service uses the latest digital technology called CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) A method for transmitting simultaneous signals over a shared portion of the spectrum. The foremost application of CDMA is the digital cellular phone technology from QUALCOMM that operates in the 800 MHz band and 1.9 GHz PCS band.  (Code Division Multiple Access), providing voice quality comparable to fixed line telephones. Centennial expects to offer its Jamaican customers 3G phones next year, which will enable Jamaicans to access the internet at faster speeds than currently available over traditional phone lines.
