Centene Corporation Announces Senior Staff Changes.

ST. LOUIS -- Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC) today announced the appointment of Edmund E. Kroll as Senior Vice President, Finance and Investor Relations. Lisa M. Wilson, Centene's current Senior Vice President, Investor Relations, will resume her role as a healthcare investor relations consultant to Centene.

Michael F. Neidorff, Centene's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "Over the last several months, Lisa has expressed her desire to return to operating her investor relations company, In-Site Communications, Inc. In this capacity, Centene will continue to be one of In-Site's anchor clients. This relationship is very valuable to us, and we honor Lisa's decision to pursue her entrepreneurial interests."

Neidorff continued, "We are fortunate to have Ed join us at an important time in our growth as a leading Medicaid managed care provider. He has the background to work closely with our investor community and will be the Company's chief spokesperson to buy- and sell-side analysts."

Mr. Kroll was formerly Managing Director and Senior Health Care Services Analyst for Cowen & Company, LLC and has extensive experience in healthcare research. Recognized as one of the most respected healthcare analysts in the industry, Ed holds an MBA from Indiana University and a BA in Economics from Rutgers University; he is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Kroll is scheduled to assume his responsibilities in late May and will be splitting his time between our New York and St. Louis offices.
