of a full-scale online graduate degree program. Microsoft will use the courses as a pilot project to determine the feasibility and potential benefits of a complete company-specific online graduate degree program.

The pilot program will span 9 1/2 weeks and include a virtual classroom of approximately 20 students. Upon completion, each participating employee will have earned 4 graduate credits from OHSU OHSU Oregon Health & Science University (Portland, OR, USA) .

"We are interested in the flexibility this new education model promises in both content and implementation," said Kim Robitaille, program manager of Higher Education at Microsoft Corp. "As a leader in innovation, Microsoft is interested in the potential of this program."

Microsoft is hoping that the e-learning model will also limit disruption to day-to-day productivity.

"A key impetus of this pilot project is to determine whether Microsoft employees enrolled in such an academically rigorous program can successfully juggle their school work and day-to-day projects at Microsoft," said Cenquest CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "Our past experience has shown that e-learning offers the scheduling flexibility that makes this easier and less disruptive than ever before. While some classroom events take place at a specific time, much of the assignments, lectures and other coursework is available online and accessible to students when and where it is most convenient."

"All of us are excited about this project with Microsoft," says Fred Phillips, head of OHSU's Management in Science and Technology (MST See micro systems technology. ) department. "Interacting in this way with this enormously important company, we, as well as the participating students, will learn a great deal. The participating students reside across the country in several U.S. states. They bring diverse career and industry backgrounds to the program, contributing to a rich educational experience."

Cenquest is delivering similar programs for other corporations and business professionals.
