Web Site Offers Career Information and Job Openings

Cenex/Land O'Lakes has launched an employment section on its web site that outlines agriculture-related career paths and posts job openings for its network of local co-ops.

Position Profiles offers details about skills, salary, education level and experience required for cooperative positions. The 36 positions posted include petroleum department manager, agronomist and dairy enterprise consultant. In the Current Openings list, visitors to the site can see what positions ar available, skill requirements and how to apply for the jobs.

Cenex/Land O'Lakes (http://www.cnxlol.com) is using the site as a recruiting tool to target high school seniors and college graduates who are looking for agriculture career choices. Traditionally, the candidates for agricultural positions came from a farm background. But with lower farm numbers, that talent pool is shrinking.

"We think it's pretty important to develop more candidates, because the candidate pool is too small," says Harlan Holmquist, manager, people systems, Cenex/Land O'Lakes Agronomy Company. "We feel this is an age group that is interested in researching things on web sites."

The web site's employment section is also intended to assist current and prospective Cenex/Land O'Lakes employees with their career development plans.

Besides employment information, the web site offers news, product information, and feature stories about customers.
