Cemex S.A. de C.V.Cemex, S.A. de C.V. announced it was going to donate US$3 million to the United Nations Children's Fund United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), an affiliated agency of the United Nations. It was established in 1946 as the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund. (Unicef) and SOS Children's Villages SOS Children's Villages is an independent, non-governmental international development organisation which has been working to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights of children since 1949. It was founded by Hermann Gmeiner in Imst, Austria. as part of the tsunami relief effort in Asia. US$2.1 million will go to SOS Children's Villages in Indonesia and US$900,000 will be donated do·nate v. do·nat·ed, do·nat·ing, do·nates v.tr. To present as a gift to a fund or cause; contribute. v.intr. To make a contribution to a fund or cause. for relief in Thailand through Unicef.
