Cemetery to deal with space problem.


EXTRA burial burial, disposal of a corpse in a grave or tomb. The first evidence of deliberate burial was found in European caves of the Paleolithic period. Prehistoric discoveries include both individual and communal burials, the latter indicating that pits or ossuaries were  space for the next 125 years will be provided in Nuneaton with a new cemetery in Eastboro Way.

The borough council has been given the go-ahead to buy a large plot of land off the county council to solve a pending grave space problem.

The cemeteries in Oaston Road and Bucks Hill are expected to be full within three years and cabinet members have now struck a deal to purchase a 35.7 hectacre site near the existing, privately-owned Heart of England Crematorium cre·ma·to·ri·um

Talks will take place with community faith groups and funeral directors over plans for the layout and infrastructure of the new cemetery, which will also have a choice of burial provision such as woodland, lawn and the traditional kerbed areas.

Council leader Peter Gilbert said: "If we had not purchased this land there was a real possibility that we would have failed to provide capacity for future burials in Nuneaton beyond 2013. This will reassure re·as·sure
