The Project denotes an investment by ISETT SETA of over 6 Million Rand (US$950,000) to the development of disadvantaged individuals in the ICT sphere. KnowledgeWorx will be developing these learners over a 12-month period in two major areas, namely Systems Development (programming) and Technical support. During this process 8 development projects will be brought to conclusion, giving the learners valuable experience in the development of IT systems and the maintenance of medium-sized IT infrastructures. The South African Government introduced a skills development levy, payable by all employers, which funds are to be applied as grants through the various SETA's to further education and skills in the unemployed sector of the community.
