The Celsian Momentum G200 Series LAN Extension models are Symmetrical Digital Subscriber Line See DSL.

(communications, protocol) Digital Subscriber Line - (DSL, or Digital Subscriber Loop, xDSL - see below) A family of digital telecommunications protocols designed to allow high speed data communication over the existing copper telephone lines between end-users and
 (G.SHDSL) bridges and routers that are configured for LAN extension applications. Using dry copper telephone wire, two LANs can be connected at speeds of up to 2.3Mbps. Ideal network extension solutions for campus buildings, schools grounds, hospital buildings and a small business with multiple suites.

Using the G200, ISPs can offer Symmetrical SHDSL services to residential or business subscribers over dry copper wire, without buying a DSLAM (DSL Access Multiplexor) A central office (CO) device for ADSL service that intermixes voice traffic and DSL traffic onto a customer's DSL line. It also separates incoming phone and data signals and directs them onto the appropriate carrier's network. See DSL. . Making this a very low cost, fast and easy solution to deploy.

Special features of the G200 Series LAN Extension models include:
-- Pre-configured for CO and CPE. One unit is in Central Office (CO) mode ready
to connect to the other unit in Customer Premises Equipment mode (CPE). Just
connect them and you are ready to use it.

-- Rate adaptive technology allows the two units to automatically negotiate the
highest rate possible for the distance and line conditions.

-- Fixed data rates can be set for strict control of traffic.

-- Advanced monitoring of the link and cell statistics.

-- Telnet, Browser, Console port and SNMP management configuration options.

-- MDI/MDI-X switch for connecting one remote PC to the LAN or LAN to LAN.

-- Selectable modes for bridge or router traffic.


The product is currently available directly from Celsian, local and international distributors. The Momentum G200 Series LAN Extension kit, containing two units, one in CO mode and the other in CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) Communications equipment that resides on the customer's premises.

CPE - Customer Premises Equipment
 mode, is ready for plug-and-play connectivity. The retail price is $895.

Celsian also has ADSL and SHDSL Internet access data products that have been certified by Nortel, Lucent, Copper Mountain and Net to Net Technologies.
