Cellular roaming for $.50 a minute in the Southwest; AT&T Wireless Services offers customers the lowest roaming rates in the Southwest.


DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 1996--Tomorrow AT&T Wireless Services introduces the lowest cellular roaming The ability to use a communications device such as a cellphone or PDA and be able to move from one cell or access point to another without losing the connection.  charges in the Southwest, saving customers in some markets up to 50 percent on roaming charges.

Named "AT&T Advantage Roam," the largest reduced-rate roaming program carries a 50-cent-a-minute fee for AT&T Wireless Services customers in the Southwest who roam outside their home coverage area where A-Side (non-wireline) cellular coverage is available.

"AT&T Advantage Roam simplifies the roaming process in the Southwest and provides customers the lowest roaming rates with the largest reduced roaming-rate area."

"AT&T Advantage Roam is the best roaming service in the Southwest," said Walden. "Competitively, no one comes close to offering the same cost and size. A recent customer survey indicates that 85 percent of prospective customers will choose a carrier that offers an expanded coverage area with affordable roaming rates."
