Cellular One provides emergency communication services, boosts system capacity to aid flood relief in Monterey County.

 since the latest series of winter storms descended on Northern California Northern California, sometimes referred to as NorCal, is the northern portion of the U.S. state of California. By providing instant mobile communication capabilities among people out in the field, the cellular phones help ensure the most accurate reports on current conditions and facilitate the best allocation of emergency reponse personnel and supplies.

In addition, the cellular phones are being used directly to assist flood victims. For example, those who have been relocated to temporary shelters are using the phones and free air time to inform friends and family, and to begin the arduous ar·du·ous

As part of its comprehensive regional disaster preparedness plan, Cellular One has commitments from phone manufacturers for up to 4,000 phones for disaster response efforts.
