New No Credit Required Cellular One-2-3 Card Lets Customers Pay

as They Go for Cellular Phone Service

Cellular One, upstate New York's leading cellular provider, today announced the Cellular One-2-3 "pay as you go" cellular service that requires no credit approval, no annual contract and no security deposit.

If they already have a cellular phone, customers can activate it by purchasing a prepaid card and paying a $35 Service Establishment Fee. Airtime can be added in either $25 or $50 increments. The rate for local incoming and outgoing calls in Cellular One's extended calling area is 65 cents per minute.

At the beginning of each call, an account balance announcement informs customers of the number of minutes remaining in their account. Then, at the end of each call, a similar announcement informs them of their balance in dollars and cents. And, at any time, card users can purchase "refills" in $25 or $50 denominations.
