) platform. Cellular One PTT is the first commercial deployment of the Kodiak Push to Talk[TM] (PTT) and Kodiak PTT Presence Manager[TM] mobile applications in Alaska.

Continuing its tradition of providing customers with the most advanced wireless services Advanced Wireless Services, also known as AWS-1, is a wireless telecommunications technology, used for mobile data services, video, and messaging. AWS-1 is used in the United States and replaces the spectrum formerly allocated to Multipoint Multichannel Distribution Service, , Cellular One PTT service enables customers to make instant PTT calls to individuals and pre-determined groups at the touch of a button. One-to-one and one-to-many PTT calls can be made by selecting a mobile contact or group from the PTT phonebook. Cellular One PTT service provides a fast and convenient way to connect with a group of people in seconds without ringing their phones.

Cellular One PTT customers retain all the same reliability, coverage, voice quality, and features they receive with their Cellular One cellular service. For example, call waiting continues to work even when a Cellular One customer is on a PTT call.

Along with the highly-reliable Kodiak PTT and Kodiak PTT Presence Manager applications, Cellular One customers also can benefit from several advancements associated with the Kodiak RTX platform. In addition to calling previously established groups in PTT contacts, Cellular One customers can use the "Quick Group" feature to create one-time, ad hoc For this purpose. Meaning "to this" in Latin, it refers to dealing with special situations as they occur rather than functions that are repeated on a regular basis. Another next-generation PTT feature is "Call Me Alert," which enables a PTT customer to send a "Call Me" message to the display of another PTT user. Kodiak PTT Contact Manager[TM] is included in every PTT-enabled handset and contacts are automatically backed up on the operator's cellular network. Cellular One's customers can place or receive PTT calls while in all 50 states simply by pressing and holding the PTT key.
