New Agreement Makes Wireless Phone Service a Possibility for More

Northeast Arizona Residents

Today there are more than 84 million wireless phone users in the U.S., yet wireless phones are still out of reach for many. The youth market, consumers with poor credit history or no established credit may not meet the basic requirements for a traditional wireless phone plan. But beginning today, that's going to change. Thanks to a new agreement, Cellular One will make wireless communications simple to buy and easier to understand when they offer the first national prepaid wireless service to Northeast Arizona residents.

Using Boston Communications Group Inc.'s Prepaid Connection, consumers throughout the Navajo and Apache counties can subscribe to prepaid wireless service with no monthly fees, no contract obligations and no credit checks and can use their wireless phones virtually anywhere in the country. The prepaid offer, EZ One, will be distributed through Cellular One agent locations throughout Northeast Arizona and will retail for $75. The EZ One starter kit includes a wireless phone, $50 prepaid phone card, plus an additional 30 minutes of free airtime. Additional minutes can be purchased in a variety of denominations at EZ One locations. Cellular One's prepaid offering provides nationwide roaming capabilities and competitive pricing on a per-minute-of-use basis.

Cellular One has been offering prepaid wireless in Northeast Arizona for two years but recently transitioned their in-house prepaid service to a more advanced network. By partnering with Boston Communications Group, Cellular One can now offer a low-cost wireless solution, and for the first time, prepaid users can roam virtually anywhere in North America. The prior prepaid system restricted users to calls within their market.
