Cellular One's Network Team Delivers New Year Cell Sites; Company Adds 44 New Sites in Last Days of 2005.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Cellular One from Dobson Cellular Systems counted down the new year by turning on more than 40 new cell sites before the clock struck midnight.

Beginning December 20th and continuing through December 31st, the company expanded its cutting-edge network with the addition of 44 new cell sites, company spokesman Craig Davis said.

"Our New Year's resolution is simple: we will continue to aggressively expand our network and serve the expanding needs of our customers across the country," Davis said.

Nationwide, Cellular One added 202 new cell sites across its 16-state service area and spent more than $130 million to expand its network. Voice traffic on the company's state-of-the-art network doubled in 2005 while data traffic increased by more than 400%, he said.

"Our customers are reaping the benefits of our commitment to network excellence. They're placing more calls and using more applications like the wireless Internet, downloadables and picture phones," Davis said.

An extensive six month optimization project in coordination with the company's Network Quality Assurance Team and key vendors Nortel and Ericsson resulted in 34% fewer dropped calls, higher call quality and better hand-off system when customers roam, he said.

Among the latest announcements of towns that will experience expanded services as a result of December cell site additions are:

--New York: Jamestown, Benedictine, Greenhurst, Saugerties, Palenville, and Dunkirk; Greene, Kingston, Salamanca

--Texas: Purdon, Malone, Red Lake, Coleman, Ellinger, Fairfield, Athens

--Oklahoma: Amber, Seminole, Canute, Woodward, Enid, Pierce, Sayre, Muskogee

--Minnesota: Cook

--West Virginia: Morgantown, Clarksburg, Fairmont, Grafton, Jane Lew

--Kentucky: Brodhead,

--Wisconsin: Superior, Barron,

--Kansas: Independence

--Pennsylvania: West Sunbury, Clarion, Dubois, Bedford, Cochranton, Williamsport, Butler

--Michigan: Traverse City, Bear Lake
