Azarnoff, a distinguished scientist and retired president of research and development at G.D. Searle and Co., a leading multinational pharmaceutical subsidiary of Monsanto, has been acting as a consultant to Cellegy since February 1997.

Commenting on the appointment, K. Azarnoff has spent many years working within the health sciences area including 16 years at the University of Kansas The University of Kansas (often referred to as KU or just Kansas) is an institution of higher learning in Lawrence, Kansas. For the last several years he has been an industry consultant specializing in clinical and regulatory matters. Azarnoff will continue to dedicate a portion of his time to his consulting activities.

Azarnoff has received many distinguished awards and honors, including recognition as a Markle Scholar in Medicine, a Burroughs Wellcome Scholar in clinical pharmacology, a Fulbright Scholar and a fellow of several prominent scientific medical organizations, including the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, the New York Academy of Sciences The New York Academy of Sciences is the third oldest scientific society in the United States. Azarnoff has also been a member of advisory and expert committees within the Food and Drug Administration, the World Health Organization, the American Medical Association American Medical Association (AMA), professional physicians' organization (founded 1847).
