Cellcom selects Celcore's GlobalHub for advanced personal mobility service.

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 19, 1996--Celcore, Inc. announced today an agreement to supply its GlobalHub to Cellcom, a cellular operator based in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The GlobalHub is an intelligent network platform that functions as the Authorization and Call Routing Equipment (ACRE) in a cellular system to offer advanced personal mobility services and one-number access.

Cellcom will use Motorola's Personal Phone Series (PPS) with Celcore's GlobalHub to provide personal mobility services where one phone can be used at home, at work, or on the road with a single phone number -- the cellular number. The PPS includes a personal base and a flip phone that functions as a cordless phone at home or work by using the landline network, and automatically operates as a cellular phone when taken outside those ranges. Calls to the cellular number are automatically re-routed to the subscriber's correct location. GlobalHub provides the intelligent network function that makes the real-time call routing possible.

The GlobalHub works in conjunction with products such as Motorola's PPS, OKI's LibertyLine, and Panasonic's BusinessLink to provide mobility management functions and Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) interfaces using industry standard protocols. Through IS-41, a cellular networking standard, the GlobalHub can be deployed with an existing cellular network regardless of the manufacturer. Easy to install, operate, and maintain, the GlobalHub is scaleable to meet the needs of both large and small cellular markets with modular expansion.
