Ericsson has initially committed to buy several hundred terminals from Unwire and has employed project leaders and sales staff to sell the new solutions enabled by Unwire's technology. Ericsson has begun focusing on development using Unwire's GSM terminal platforms that allow applications to be added to common equipment as an alternative to custom installation and programming of motherboards on millions of devices that already exist. GPS navigation, integrated hands-free cellphones, wireless communications and automatic driving assistance systems all come under the terminals in the fast growing Asian markets.
