Celestica operates a global manufacturing network with operations in Asia, Europe and the Americas, providing a broad range of of Puerto Rico Puerto Rico (pwār`tō rē`kō), island (2005 est. pop. 3,917,000), 3,508 sq mi (9,086 sq km), West Indies, c.1,000 mi (1,610 km) SE of Miami, Fla. has cut 78 jobs from its plant in Aguadilla due to transfer of a manufacturing line to Asia that, reports Caribbean Business (Feb. 18, 2008). Of the 78 affected jobs, 37 were regular employees and the remaining 41 were contract workers who were to be released by late February. The Aguadilla plant will remain in operation with 166 employees.
