Celerity Solutions Unveils Advanced Supply Chain Planner for Windows NT.

CONCORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 1998--Celerity Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:CLTY), a leading single-source solution for supply chain and warehouse management software, today announced the launch of its advanced planning product, Supply Chain Planner (SCP), which is based on a patented planning algorithm. SCP enables companies to respond quickly and automatically to changes in supply and demand, a critical element to the success of their clients. The product allows a company to capture supply and demand changes in real time in order to re-plan automatically and respond immediately. Such responsiveness allows companies to improve customer service and reduce inventory levels.

SCP, which communicates with execution systems using a published set of messages, will be offered as a stand-alone product as well as part of Celerity's Continuum suite of supply chain management products. SCP will be distributed through Celerity's direct sales force as well as through implementation partners.

SCP is a real-time, event-driven planning tool. It instantly responds to each change in supply, demand and planning rules. Each of these changes generates a message to a planning server which then re-evaluates the supply plan. Planned orders are updated automatically. The planner is notified immediately if manual intervention is indicated.

SCP develops a supply plan based on a model of the client's supply chain. This model includes locations, forecasted and actual demand, sourcing rules, lead times, shipping constraints, calendars, order, safety stock and excess stock policies. In addition, transportation planning and load building facilities are integrated into the planning tool.
