Helen James, Chairwoman of Wrexham Science Festival, and Coun Griffiths will speak briefly before Philippa awards the prizes for the 'What's In Space' Literary Competition. The nth science festival has received entries from all over the world. People were asked to write a poem, short story, comic strip comic strip, combination of cartoon with a story line, laid out in a series of pictorial panels across a page and concerning a continuous character or set of characters, whose thoughts and dialogues are indicated by means of "balloons" containing written speech. or a short play on the theme of 'What's in Space? A Journey Beyond Earth'. The entries are grouped in the categories of age 6 and under; age 7-11,12-17; 18 and upwards and group entries. The reception will be followed by a talk by Philippa in the Nick Whitehead Neville ("Nick") Joseph Whitehead (born May 29 1933 in Wrexham – died October 6 2002 in Wrexham) was a Welsh sprinter. He competed for Great Britain in the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome in the 4 x 100 metre relay where he won the bronze medal with his team mates Peter Theatre at Glyndwr University. The Festival runs from Thursday to Saturday 4 April, with Scientriffic, a day-long programme of interactive activities for families being held on the last day. It will feature "something for everyone," said organisers covering a vast range of science concepts through talks, films, demonstrations and exhibitions.
