Faith Hill, Elijah Wood and Paula Abdul are just a few of Hollywood's brightest celebrities who created hand-decorated, star-shaped ornaments to benefit the Starlight Children's Foundation -- an international non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for seriously ill children and their families. The star-shaped decorations will be featured on ebay(R) as part of a benefit for the Foundation called "Starry, Starry Night," promoted by Embassy Suites Hotels.

The distinctive celebrity ornaments range from the funky to the whimsical and include items such as Michael Clark Duncan's holiday-inspired star with green, red and white sparkling pipecleaners and golden bells and Anna Nicole's pink and purple marshmallow star. Lucky bidders will also have a chance to purchase an ornament fit for a queen -- Joely Fisher's lavishly decorated "ruby" red and "diamond" encrusted star. For the golf nut, Tom Lehman painted a scene that depicts a tiny golfer making a hole-in-one under a Christmas tree.

"We've been working with the Starlight Children's Foundation for more than two years and always are looking for ways to contribute beyond donating hotel suites," said Mark Snyder, senior vice president of brand management for Embassy Suites Hotels. "We're hoping this auction will greatly benefit seriously ill children in a unique and substantial way during the holidays."

The decorated ornaments are being auctioned off on ebay at www.ebay.com/starlight. The bidding will open on December 5, 2002 and will close at 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on December 12, 2002.

Also in support of the Starlight Children's Foundation, all 168 Embassy Suites Hotels are selling handcrafted glass star ornaments already gift-packaged at its hotels this holiday season from November 25, 2002 through January 1, 2003. The iridescent stars feature a fancy silver hook and will sell for $10.00 plus tax. Fifty percent of the proceeds will go to the Starlight Children's Foundation.
