The dinner will be held in conjunction with CALBIOsummit 2003, "The Science of Success: Thriving in Challenging Times," California's largest annual life sciences industry conference, and will be held in the San Diego Convention Center The San Diego Convention Center is the main convention center for the city of San Diego, California. It is located in the Marina district of downtown San Diego near the Gaslamp Quarter, at 111 West Harbor Drive.  on March 10 and 11, 2003.

The dinner, being held on Monday, March 10th, will be the "don't miss" marquee event of the conference. An anticipated attendance of over 1,000, attendees will include life science leaders, California's political, military and academia elite, and a cross-section of key representatives from the telecom and software industries. The program will celebrate the year's achievements in the life sciences industry with awards and timely speaking topics. The awards will be given under four categories: the McGraw Baldwin Award (awarded to the industry leader of the year), the Bill Otterson Award (awarded to the service provider of the year), the Community Partner of the Year Award and the Legislator of the Year Award.
