Celebrities score for asthma fund; Sky Blue legends help make big day a winner.

THOUSANDS of pounds was raised for charity when hundreds of people came together at a celebrity football match and barbecue in the Coundon area of Coventry.

The fundraiser for the National Asthma Association and Macmillan Nurses was in memory of Coventry schoolgirl Rebecca Hughes, who died from an asthma attack this year and asthma fundraiser Kevin Price Kevin Price is a radio host in Houston, Texas. Born December 18, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan, he grew up in the small suburb of Ferndale, Michigan until the age of 13 when he and his family left the state for Texas.  who died after a cancer operation.

The event at Northbrook Sports and Social Club in Northbrook Road attracted 300 visitors and raised pounds 3,500 for charity.

Six-a-side team, the Danny Thomas Allstars, ended up winning the day's football contest, beating entrants Tandee by two goals to one.
