 for their support of the arts at the 23rd annual Business in the Arts Awards in an event that begins at 6 p.m. May 14 at the Radisson Hotel-Center of New Hampshire New Hampshire, one of the New England states of the NE United States. It is bordered by Massachusetts (S), Vermont, with the Connecticut R. forming the boundary (W), the Canadian province of Quebec (NW), and Maine and a short strip of the Atlantic Ocean (E).  in Manchester.

Sponsored by the New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts, 30 businesses were nominated nom·i·nate  
tr.v. nom·i·nat·ed, nom·i·nat·ing, nom·i·nates
1. To propose by name as a candidate, especially for election.

2. To designate or appoint to an office, responsibility, or honor.
, including our own New Hampshire Magazine, for four categories based on the size of the business.

Also, one person will selected for a leadership award for his or her efforts in promoting business leadership commitments to the arts.

 of the arts is a long-standing tradition going back centuries. In times past, patrons were royalty. Today we have businesses supporting the arts," said Rick Broussard, editor of New Hampshire Magazine. "It's a wonderful--and worthy--tradition, and we are honored to be nominated."

Broussard, staff of the New Hampshire Magazine, and other individuals and sponsors created the annual New Hampshire Theater Awards, honoring community and professional theater.

This year's winners will receive an original art piece by artist Bill Haust of Plymouth State University Plymouth State University is a coeducational, residential university with an enrollment of approximately 4,192 undergraduate students and 1,072 graduate students. The school was founded as Plymouth Normal School in 1871. .
