Celebrating teachers.ACEI ACEI Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitor ACEI Association for Childhood Education International ACEI Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland has celebrated Week of the Classroom Teacher, a celebration many members have referred to as "U.S. focused," since 1995. Now, with the celebration of World Teachers' Day World Teachers' Day, held annually on 5 October since 1994, commemorates teachers’ organisations worldwide. Its aim is to mobilise support for teachers and to ensure that the needs of future generations will continue to be met by teachers. , we ask the question, "What is your country doing to recognize the contributions of its teachers?" As we observe Week of the Classroom Teacher (October 1-7) and World Teachers' Day (October 5), we should consciously encourage the public to acknowledge the role of teachers worldwide and their contributions in helping our children become caring and cooperative global citizens. There are so many ways you can celebrate Week of the Classroom Teacher and World Teachers' Day. Here are a few suggestions to get you started: * Visit the ACEI Web site, www.acei.org, to obtain the planning guide and other sample materials to assist with generating publicity, and call ACEI Headquarters (301-570-2111) for brochures and bookmarks. * Attain press coverage through press releases and interviews. Contact your local radio station to arrange airtime to promote your upcoming celebratory events. * Increase community awareness of the unique responsibilities and challenges teachers face by contacting your local PTO PTO abbr. 1. For smaller children, have them draw a picture of their favorite teacher and feature the drawings on the school bulletin board. * Invite teacher educators to send a card or note of appreciation to the teacher who encouraged them to pursue teaching. * Meet with your local and national political leaders and lobby for high-quality education and continuing professional development CPD is the means by which members of professional associations maintain, improve and broaden their knowledge and skills and develop the personal qualities required in their professional lives. for all teachers, at every level.
