See : Time Northern Ontario Business Awards have played a very important role in seeking out and honouring those people in our region who have stood above the rest in their chosen area of business.
These awards have grown to the point that they are now highly anticipated each year, and they are recognized as a Northern tradition that celebrates the people in our region who have made substantial contributions to economic wealth, job creation and growth. They have also become a great opportunity to celebrate our northern spirit, ingenuity and accomplishments.
We are very proud of the role we have played in hosting the awards several times over the past two decades, and we value our reputation as a warm and enthusiastic host city.
It is only fitting that for 2006 these awards have returned to Thunder Bay--the city where they began in 1986. As mayor of Thunder Bay, I am delighted to welcome the awards back to our city to celebrate their milestone 20th anniversary. We extend our warmest welcome to the organizers, participants and nominees along with our previous winners, as we gather together to honour this year's nominees.
On behalf of City Council and the citizens of Thunder Bay, congratulations and best wishes for continued success in the future.
