Celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau Day in style at the Marriott; COMPETITION.IT has become a highlight in the social calendar with many now enjoying a glass of the sought after Beaujolais Nouveau on the very day it is released for sale each year on the third Thursday in November. The red wine is special in that it is fermented for just a few weeks and made from Gamay ga·may n. Any of several related red grapes used for making red wines, especially Beaujolais. [French, after Gamay, a village of east-central France.] grapes produced in the Beaujolais area of France. It is only at its best for a few short weeks and across France and now the UK, celebrations take place to mark its arrival. We've teamed up with the Marriott in Cardiff to give one lucky reader and a guest the chance to celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau Day, which this year falls on Thursday November 19, in true style. The Marriott's own French-style restaurant Brasserie Centrale will be marking the day with a specially themed menu and we've got a dinner reservation for two waiting to be won. Sample the delights of the traditional French cuisine, with a selection of hors d'oeuvres, entres and desserts including Salade Lyonnaise ly·on·naise adj. Cooked with onions: lyonnaise potatoes; potatoes lyonnaise. [From French (à la) Lyonnaise, (in the manner) of Lyon, from Lyon. (smoked bacon with poached egg), Magrets de Canard ca·nard n. 1. Brasserie Centrale at the Marriott was officially opened at the end of last year. Seating 130 in four separate, but linked dining areas, the restaurant has already established itself as a favourite on the city's culinary map.
