Celeb's ink tells them tattoo they really are; Irish Daily Mirror THURSDAY 07.01.2009 22 Pol ly l y . She writes a weekly column on Thursdays for the Daily Mirror and heat magazine as a show business reporter. CHERYL Cole Cheryl Ann Cole, (née Tweedy) (born 30 June 1983) is an English singer and member of the girl group Girls Aloud. She is married to the Chelsea and England footballer Ashley Cole. Early career She was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. and Jordan have something major in common this week. No, it's not that one of them let her husband go when she shouldn't have and vice versa VICE VERSA. On the contrary; on opposite sides. : it's about tattoos. Both of them want rid, you see. But actually, is it a good idea for celebrities to remove their tats? Nowadays they can't remember who they really are and where they came from via the laughter and frown lines on their faces, because they've all been Botoxed off or filled in. So their outdated "body art" is, really, their only hope of keeping their feet on the ground. It reminds them of who they used to be - the tats never lie. I reckon it's the best possible thing for Cheryl - now lauded as a style queen and surrounded by "yes" people - to be forced to remember the simple Geordie lass she used to be every time she sees the Barb Wire-esque ring of thorns on her thigh. Jordan's pathetic stunt of having a black cross inked across her "Pete" tattoo is surely only a precursor to her getting it lasered off. But again, would it be such a bad thing for her to keep it and remember that she did love him once? Like her version of a stigmata stigmata (stĭg`mətə, stĭgmăt`ə) [plural of stigma, from Gr.,=brand], wounds or marks on a person resembling the five wounds received by Jesus at the crucifixion. or something. Amy Winehouse's eyes are probably never able to focus for long enough for her to see the "Blake's" over her t*t heart. But if she could, she'd probably be making plans - if she's capable of making plans at this stage - to get rid of it. But isn't it quite good she'll be reminded of what was undoubtedly an important, if horrifically ill-advised, relationship? So many people disappear up their own harrises when they become famous. If tattoos have even a slim chance of keeping a few of them vaguely grounded, please form a picket line outside a lasering establishment today, for the good of us all. |
