Celcore supplies cellular system to Millicom for deployment in Russia.

, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 22, 1996--Celcore officials announced today that Millicom International Cellular S.A. has entered an agreement with Celcore to deploy a cellular system in Russia.

, Millicom will be the first to provide cellular service in Smolensk, a city of 1.2 million people about 400 kilometers west of Moscow. The system is scheduled to be in service later this year.

Millicom's cellular system includes the Celcore GlobalSwitch mobile switching center, GlobalCell AMPS base stations, and a Network Management System with graphical user interface graphical user interface (GUI)
