The Company said that Ronald S. Roman, who had been Chief Operating Officer, had indicated that he would complete his employment contract, scheduled to terminate on September 30, 1999, but would retire at that time from the Company for personal reasons. Accordingly, Mr. Roman is being named Executive Vice President, Special Projects. He will assist Steve Russell, Chairman and President, in developing acquisitions and handling other special projects between now and completion of his contract.

Celadon Group, Inc. is a truckload company specializing in the transport of goods from the United States and Canada to Mexico. The Company has approximately 2,100 line haul tractors and 6,000 trailers.
