) announced today the promotion of Nancy L. Morris to the position of Vice President of Operations.

In making the announcement, Steve Russell, chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Celadon Group, Inc., pointed out that according to a survey of the major full truckload companies, the promotion of Morris makes her the holder of the highest executive position attained by a woman in the male dominated trucking industry.

Morris, who joined Celadon last August as Director of Operations and Program Systems, previously held executive positions with North American Van Lines North American Van Lines, or NAVL, is a large, United States based trucking company originally formed in Cleveland, Ohio and later based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, that is mainly dedicated to helping clients during the process of moving.  where she spent 12 years and developed award winning training and quality programs.

As Vice President of Operations, Morris reports to Ron Roman, executive vice president of Fleet Management, and will continue to be responsible for driver recruiting and related functions. She will also assume the direction of the over the road breakdown department and equipment control and customer service, planning and driver management activities for over 1,500 employees.
